Plain-language policies for Unscripted Tools. No legalese fog. Last updated: March 2026.
Unscripted Tools is provided as-is, free of charge, with no warranties expressed or implied — including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We are not responsible for how activities are used, the outcomes of sessions, participant reactions, psychological effects, interpersonal dynamics, or any consequences arising from use of this platform.
You are the facilitator. You own the room. It is your responsibility to assess whether any activity is appropriate for your group, context, and environment. Some activities involve personal disclosure, physical movement, or competitive elements — use your professional judgment.
Unscripted Tools, Knowmium, and their contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from your use of this platform, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
What we collect
Facilitators who sign in via Manus OAuth provide a name and account identifier. We store this to associate sessions with your account. No payment information is collected — the platform is free.
Participants do not need an account. They join via QR code or short URL. We do not collect names, emails, device identifiers, or any personal information from participants unless they voluntarily enter it into an activity (e.g., a suggestion box or survey).
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not train AI models on your session content, submissions, participant responses, or any user-generated content.
Cookies & analytics
We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics (page views and session counts only) to understand how the platform is used. No cross-site tracking. No fingerprinting. No advertising cookies.
Data retention
Session data (activity type, configuration, participant submissions) is stored to run your live session. Sessions older than 90 days may be automatically purged. You can delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
Content you create — session titles, custom prompts, activity configurations, survey questions — belongs to you. We do not claim ownership over it.
Participant-generated content (sticky notes, survey responses, word cloud entries, brainstorm ideas) is stored temporarily to run the session. It is not shared, sold, or used for any purpose other than displaying it to you and your participants during the session.
AI features
Some activities use AI to generate content (e.g., random topics, scenario prompts). When AI is used, the prompt sent to the model is minimal and does not include your session content or participant data. We do not use your content to fine-tune or train any AI model.
Third-party services
We use standard infrastructure services (hosting, CDN, database) to run the platform. These services process data only as necessary to deliver the service and are bound by their own privacy policies. We do not grant third parties access to your session content.
Many activities in this library are adapted from established facilitation traditions, improv theatre practice, and academic research. We credit sources where known and make a good-faith effort to attribute correctly.
Key sources & traditions
Activities draw from: Liberating Structures (Lipmanowicz & McCandless), Thiagi Group (Sivasailam Thiagarajan), Viola Spolin's improv theatre exercises, Keith Johnstone's Theatresports and Impro methodology, Pecha Kucha (Klein & Dytham), Arthur Aron et al.'s interpersonal closeness research (36 Questions), and general improv and facilitation practice in the public domain.
Scene Builder card imagery is original AI-generated artwork in the style of dreamlike watercolor illustration, created for this platform. It is not derived from or affiliated with the Dixit board game or Libellud.
Disputes & corrections
If you believe an activity is incorrectly attributed, violates intellectual property, or should be removed, contact us at [email protected]. We take attribution seriously and will respond promptly.
Submitting activities
When you submit an activity, you confirm you have the right to share it and grant us permission to include it in the library. We will credit you as the source. Submissions are reviewed before publication and may be edited for clarity.
By using Unscripted Tools, you agree to use it in good faith and in accordance with applicable laws. You agree not to use the platform to harass, harm, or discriminate against any individual or group.
You are responsible for the content of your sessions and the appropriateness of activities for your audience. Unscripted Tools is not suitable for use with minors without appropriate supervision and parental consent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for misuse, abuse, or violation of these terms. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time; continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Knowmium operates. Disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before any formal proceedings.
